During the school holidays, twice a year, they hold the book fairs at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). Everyone says that Thai people don’t read much, but obviously the countless thousands of people who attend these events never got the memo. The book fair is probably one of the most popular events to be held at QSNCC. It is almost impossible to park and it takes ten minutes to walk a few yards. Every year it seems to get busier and busier. This year the Book Expo is on from 18th to 28th October 2012. If you can, try and go during the week and as close to the opening time of 10 a.m. as you can. The majority of books are in Thai but there are quite a few stalls with English language books. There are also many bilingual books that are printed in both English and Thai which are good for expat children. Parking is limited so it is best to go by subway. The nearest station is MRT QSNCC.
