Visit Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii
The Kilauea Volcano is the most active of the five volcanoes that make up the island.
A tiny dribble of volcanic lava made its way down a 6.5-mile cliffside on the island of Hawaii this week, completing a journey that started in May.
There are a number of boat tours that take passengers right by the volcano—if you’re in the area, now is a good time to check it out.Once the lava hits the water, plumes of steam erupt into the sky, only momentarily blurring the vibrant molten stream.
And if you’re not going to find yourself in Hawaii anytime soon, check out the video above for footage of the lava flow.
Bonus: Someone uncovered a shot from the top of the volcano that makes it look like the mountain is grinning from behind a layer of ash.
